1. Acceptance

Using AlsNime, with or without an account, means you accept these terms of use. Personal data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy

Creating an account requires you to expressly accept these terms (checkbox); the accepted date and version are kept with the account.

2. Purpose of the service

AlsNime is a free anime tracking service: personal list, episode-by-episode progress, release schedule, notifications, member ratings and site news. AlsNime does not host or stream any video. The site is a personal project, published by an individual and hosted in France.

3. Access to the service

• The site is free to access, with no guarantee of permanent availability: interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates or incidents.
• AlsNime may restrict or suspend access to all or part of the service, in particular for technical or security reasons, or in case of abuse.

4. Registration & account

• Creating an account is free. It requires a username, a valid e-mail address (to be confirmed to activate the account) and a password.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for actions performed from your account; turning on two-factor authentication is recommended.
• If these terms are breached or the account is used fraudulently, AlsNime may limit, suspend or delete the account. You can delete your account at any time from your profile.
• Minimum age: 15. In France, this is the age from which a person can sign up alone to an online service that processes their data (article 45 of the French Data Protection Act, article 8 of the GDPR). You declare it when signing up; no date of birth is asked.
• If an account belongs to someone under 15, their parents (or holders of parental authority) can ask for it to be deleted, giving the account’s username, in the “My personal data” category of the Contact.
• Artwork of adult or nudity anime is blurred by default: anyone can show it after a warning (with confirmation of being 18 or over for adult content). Adult anime do not appear in discovery lists, only in search. Members aged 18 or over can turn the blur off in their profile preferences.

5. Features

• Personal list: status, episode progress, ratings, favourites and private notes, with import from MyAnimeList.
• Episode schedule, private calendar (iCal) and notifications on the site or through Discord, according to your preferences.
• Contributions: anime suggestions, correction requests and support messages, subject to review by the team.
• Member reviews and ratings: each member chooses who can read their reviews (signed-in members by default, everyone, or nobody but themselves). Features may change, be added or be removed.

6. External links and data sources

Links to streaming platforms lead to third-party services governed by their own terms. AlsNime is not responsible for their content or availability.

Entry information (titles, synopses, artwork, air dates) may contain errors or delays: it mostly comes from third-party sources, queried by our servers through their APIs:

• AniList - anime entries, airing schedule, characters and relations between works;
• The Movie Database (TMDB) - additional posters and backdrops, translated titles and synopses (reviewed by the team), episode titles and air dates. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

No member personal data is sent to these services: only our servers query them, and images are copied to our servers. Their data remains the property of its authors and is used under their terms; the notices they ask for are in the Credits.

7. Providers and data transfers

To work, AlsNime uses technical providers. They process the data needed on our behalf, following our instructions and only for the following uses:

• OVHcloud (OVH SAS, France) - hosting of the site and databases, on servers located in France, and encrypted database backups (kept for 60 days); a copy of these backups is stored with a storage provider in Switzerland, a country whose data protection the European Commission recognises as equivalent.
• Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., United States) - all of the site’s traffic passes through Cloudflare, including your IP address: content delivery, firewall and attack protection, Turnstile anti-robot check (sign-in, sign-up, contact), cookie-free aggregated audience measurement (Cloudflare Web Analytics, only if you accept audience measurement) and reception of e-mails sent to @alsnime.com addresses.
• Resend (Resend, Inc., United States) - delivery of the site’s e-mails (activation, security, notifications and news you chose) from its European region (Ireland): your e-mail address and the content of the message.
• Discord (Discord Inc., United States) - only if you link your Discord account: your Discord identifier and username, the server or channel chosen for notifications, and the list of notifications sent (kept for 1 year). You can remove the link at any time from your profile.
• Ko-fi (Ko-fi Labs Limited, United Kingdom) - a plain link to support the site: donations are made on Ko-fi, under its own terms; AlsNime receives no payment data.

Cloudflare, Resend and Discord are companies established in the United States: transfers of data outside the European Union they may involve are covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses). These providers only use your data to provide their service to the site; none of it is sold or used for advertising.

8. Intellectual property

AlsNime’s code, design and own texts are protected. Titles, images and trademarks of the works mentioned belong to their respective rights holders and are shown for information purposes only.

9. User content & moderation

You remain responsible for the content you publish (username, avatar, description, reviews, suggestions, edit requests, messages). This content:

• must comply with the law and respect the rights of others and other members (no abusive, hateful or unlawful content);
• must not contain links to pirated content or unsolicited advertising;
• may be moderated, edited or removed by team members with a moderation or administration role, without notice in case of a breach.

10. Personal data & cookies

• Data processed: account information, activity on the site and security logs, detailed in the Privacy Policy.
• Purposes: providing the service, securing accounts and the site, measuring audience from aggregated or pseudonymised data. Your data is never sold or used for advertising.
• Export and deletion: from your profile (Privacy section), you can export your data or delete your account at any time.
• Cookies: only necessary cookies (session, sign-in, device recognition for the new sign-in alert, language, banner choice, Cloudflare protection) and one calendar display preference cookie; only with your consent, a random audience-measurement identifier, removed as soon as you refuse, and the cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics statistics script; no advertising cookies. Detailed audience measurement only happens with your consent in the banner (refusing is as easy as accepting, and you can change your choice at any time). Sensitive forms are protected by the Cloudflare Turnstile anti-robot check.

11. Changes

These terms may change as the service evolves. The applicable version is the one published on this page; significant changes are announced on the site.

12. Applicable law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first; failing that, the competent French courts may hear the case.
